[New Release] GURPS Classic: Conan
Hey, all!
We just released GURPS Classic: Conan. It's kind of a big deal for us, so you might want to check out the Daily Illuminator. By Crom! (Buy Crom?) |

Re: [New Release] GURPS Classic: Conan
So, wait -- will the rest of the Conan line be put up on e23? That might change things a bit... And how long before the licensing agreement expires? This is pretty cool, actually -- I was disappointed at first, until I considered that this might open the way for the other products (which I do NOT have)...

That would appear to be the import of the Illuminator.

Re: [New Release] GURPS Classic: Conan
The Daily Illuminator I linked to should answer most of your questions. (Short form: Yes, we're releasing the rest of the Conan line.)
The window of the license isn't public, but it shouldn't be counted on to be indefinite. (Which is to say, you needn't sprint out today to pick them up, but you also shouldn't wait until 2525 to decide on anything.) I imagine that -- as we did with the Vorkosigan Saga Sourcebook and Roleplaying Game on e23 -- we'll try to give some notice when we get near the end of the arrangement. And remember that e23 is "buy once, download whenever." So even if/when Steve Jackson Games no longer has the license, those who purchase GURPS Conan products will still be able to re-download them as needed afterward. |

Sold. This week and the next four weeks. Kick ***; guys!
Now the question is whether this means we might see a future GURPS Conan 4e. [/rampant speculation] |

Re: [New Release] GURPS Classic: Conan
Does this license mean anything (proof of concept, start of a general trend, first of a long line of signed contracts . . . ) for the possibility of other licensed 3rd Edition books coming to e23?

Re: [New Release] GURPS Classic: Conan
If the license allows for new GURPS Conan products, then please (x10) make it happen. Even start a kickstarter campaign for it, to see if it's fiscally viable. Or advanced pre-order through e23, the current e23 infrastructure supports it with the way pyramids are released.

Re: [New Release] GURPS Classic: Conan
I'm guessing we're not likely to see a 4e standalone product. This would act as a good gauge of interest for a potential 4e expansion like Will to Live was for Reign of Steel.
I think a 4e expansion, perhaps with a whole chapter on how to use Conan with DF would sell like hotcakes. |
