Could you get a bonus to memorizing a sound using Discriminatory hearing by listening to it for longer than a minute?

Maybe, I would probably use the extra time for tasks modifier. However if you want good recall of sounds I would take the profiling enhancement.

Discriminatory Hearing would tell you where the sound was coming from more accurately than regular hearing. This has nothing to do with identifying the sound or remembering it. Memorizing the sound has to with repeating what the sound is, even if you do not know what it is. Mimicry, the Advantage, is the basis for repeating sounds accurately. The Advantage is for [I]simple[I] sounds but it can be built on to allow for accurate duplication of more compex sounds, perhaps in conjunction with some form of improved memory.

Discriminatory senses allow you to analyze the content, not just location, of the source in "superhuman" ways. The first sentence of Discriminatory Hearing notes identifying people and machines by their sound spectrum as examples.
Discriminatory Hearing is at comic work at the beginning of this clip from the old Disney film "The Aristocats": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu8-Rh0i9Kk |
