Re: Adventures in the Great Desert (in Yrth).
GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Adventure 1: Mirror of the Fire Demon has desert things. Monsters, sand etc.

Have you looked at Orcslayer from Man to Man? It has the players go through the great desert & Castle Defiant to the Orc Lands.
I think it's exactly what you are looking for. http://www.warehouse23.com/products/...ssic-orcslayer |

Re: Adventures in the Great Desert (in Yrth).
There's a classic Conan story Xuthal of the Dusk about finding a deserted city in the desert. It's available as part of project Gutenberg if you do a google search for it, and worth a read if only for some inspiration.

Re: Adventures in the Great Desert (in Yrth).
A reminder from Banestorm p. 183 that Divine/Holy-powered advantages are not limited by Mana levels (Origins, pp. B33-34). (Even if Yrth cleric spells use Magery)...

Re: Adventures in the Great Desert (in Yrth).
There's no separate class of "cleric" Spells. Members of the clergy on Yrth who cast Spells have Magery and learn their Spells like other Mages.

Re: Adventures in the Great Desert (in Yrth).
Sure no separate class of cleric spells, BUT Banestorm has some quite interesting religious folks with strange powers, who are not magical and therefore not hampered by the manalevel.

Re: Adventures in the Great Desert (in Yrth).
Mystics, IIRC. They don't cast spells, they use Magic-as-Powers with the Pact limitation. *goes to check the book* GURPS Banestorm p27 does mention that "there seems to be no connection at all between mystical abilities and mana levels." So, unless there's something that I didn't notice that says otherwise, you're correct that mystical abilities should work in the Great Desert.
