Re: Memorable Quotes.
"Player Character-A person who will not only fight a battle in a burning house but will start the fire."
Ipaxif the Gnome "I'm going to Spider Climb down this dark and spooky well." Krak <waves bye-bye> "Make a loud noise when you die!" Krak "Elf Girl going to steal candlesticks? Fiona "It could be dangerous if we go that way." Krak<shrugs> "If Elf Girl worried about danger why we come to Evil Temple?" (Fiona's player to DM) "Does this mean the Robe of Frost Resistance will be red?" Krak "Oooh! Statue! Gives Krak chance to work on barbaric behavior quota!" DM "So the cleric and the gnome are at 0 HP and must begin making Death Saves next round. What does the rest of the party do" Me "Krak grabs the cleric and runs. Fiona can carry the gnome." Krak (over his shoulder) "Krak _suggest_ to Elf Girl that we not come in here!"

"I force-feed him broccoli!"
-- upon discovering their MH experiment captive appears to never have eaten a vegetable in his life. "No, you haven't asked his name yet" -- 16 hours after the initial capture and interrogation of the prisoner

One time, I was a player, not a GM, and my character was the one who did the planning and sensible thinking for the adventuring group. I missed one session and found out that that the other PCs had taken advantage of my PC being busy with other stuff and rushed into the brig where we were keeping a valuable prisoner, apparently a clone of my character, presumably knowing a lot of stuff about an enemy faction which he served. When I got back, I was regaled with a long description of the terrible torture they inflicted on the poor prisoner. They beat him, burned him, cut off an ear, crushed toes, clipped off fingers, poked out eyes and a long list of other indignities before he expired, dead from shock. I shook my head and asked: "Did he at least tell you something useful?" The GM gave a long-suffering sigh: "No one asked him anything." The other players all started to explain at once. The gist of their explanations boiled down to "you're usually the one who does the boring stuff like that and you weren't there, so how were we supposed to know what to ask him?"

Re: Memorable Quotes.
One of the things I noticed about Dragon Age Inquisition is that (because of the constraints of voiced characters) it was definitely days before the nascent inquisition ask the prisoner they are holding at the start what its name is.

Re: Memorable Quotes.
To be fair, sometimes, their name just isn't terribly relevant. If you're more concerned about escape, asking the Nazi mage his name is just wasting time.

It's relevant, as asking and using a person's name is Interrogation 101 it makes them more likely to actually answer the relevant questions.

Re: Memorable Quotes.
This assumes you're performing a normal interrogation. If you're trying to escape, you don't care a pair of fetid dingo's kidneys what this guy's name is. You just want to know which way to go. And a knife in the ribs is a better ice breaker than asking them what their name is.

It is fairly typical PC behavior though. Actually, I suspect most prisoners want to volenteer their name. People generally don't like being called by descriptions. Though the "Name" Volenteered may just be a first name, nick name, or false name.
