Re: Retail Release Date?
The core set is a larger box with both of the two-player sets. Essentially, you get the miniatures and cards and dashboards for each and a rules pack with the tokens and turning keys and vehicle sheets.
The $10 discount plus the large solid box make the core set a good deal if you want 4 cars on the board at a time or want to run a pair of games (the latter is a lot faster per game).

Re: Retail Release Date? Kickstarter Update #135 announces
Just saw there were street days in Update #135 of the Kickstarter campaign.
'With fulfillment of the game behind us, we're officially launching the Car Wars Sixth Edition game. Starting in October, the core game, four miniatures sets, and the two-player starter sets will be hitting stores worldwide. You may contact your favorite local game store and ask them to order any of the following items for you if you need more in your collection: October 5 Street Date Car Wars Two-Player Starter Set Red/Yellow Car Wars Two-Player Starter Set Blue/Green October 19 Street Date Car Wars Miniatures Set 1 Car Wars Miniatures Set 2 November 2 Street Date Car Wars Miniatures Set 3 Car Wars Miniatures Set 4 November 16 Street Date Car Wars Core Set' The miniatures sets have miniatures, bases, and the cards for that set enabling 4 players to mount that gear (each card is in 4 colors and you may use more than one of non-exclusive cards if you want). The Core set combines each of the two-player sets, giving you a dozen (12) cars and 4 dashboards and cards to have 4 people play. 2-player sets are the complete game, just for two players and with a set of 6 cars. Essentially, if you buy the core set, you get a bigger box with both the two-player boxes tucked in it. Some of the cards from the miniatures sets are mentioned on the Vehicle Record Sheets, which are premade cars at two point levels to get you started playing.
