Re: Warp or Jumper or something else?
What about the limited range limitation? If Heaven is above Earth is above Hell, then being able to only jump one leg at a time is listed at...-10%. (B64, bottom of the third column.)
Edit. Also, page B106, link. When you can't use the abilities separately, it's +10%, when you can, it's +20%. Now, the specific modifier for Jump is +10%, so, ...+5%? Last edited by SRoach; 04-18-2016 at 04:15 PM. |

Re: Warp or Jumper or something else?
Why did you take Reliable +6? Do you want to have an effective skill of 16?

Distance/Time required to retain an effective skill of 16 10 yards/2 minutes 20 yards/4 minutes 100 yards/8 minutes 500 yards/15 minutes 2 Miles/30 minutes 10 Miles/1 hour 100 Miles/2 hours 1,000 Miles/4 hours 10,000 Miles/8 hours GURPS Powers: the Weird has some new modifiers, but doesn't define them clearly. They may be of interest to you: Accessibility, Requires knowledge of destination, ‑10%; I assume "knowledge" means memory of a location you have actually been to. Cosmic, Based on memory of destination rather than spatial coordinates, +50%; This seems to mean: When teleporting to a known location you ignore Range penalties. When teleporting to a known location you ignore Preparation bonuses/penalties. When teleporting to a known location you, if you have Eidetic Memory you roll at +5 or +10 if you have Photographic Memory. Also consider Cosmic: No Roll Required +100%. Re: Warp or Jumper or something else?
A decent map will get you to the right town, a GPS device and coordinates can get you in the right room, a live camera feed gets you in the field of view, etc. Still, no Warping X miles that way just because.

Re: Warp or Jumper or something else?
Alright... so we played a little bit in the game this weekend with some of these in the back of our head, and story-wise, folks did not use it to do a lot of teleporting around. So, we are considering just having Jumper (World) to get from Heaven, Hell, and Earth, and giving all the Angel-characters that can do this pretty fast flight.
This feels better with the stories we've been telling and it keeps the focus on Earth, which is where the fun is. I may have to get that Powers: the Weird though. That sounds like a good tweak or two to the basic rules.
