If you need invites, I can provide you (I have already invited everyone I wished to invite)
I've heard good things about Google Wave, this might be a good opportunity to try it out, I'd vote for that...

Send me a PM with your email address (preferabely a google one) and I'll give you an invite. I feel that it's probably the one of the best mediums for this kind of collaborative worldbuilding

This was in reference to the spinning world map that I have on my Njordlund campaign page. The original map was built using Profantasy's Fractal Terrains. It has been a while since I used it, but as I recall one of the output options is globe and you have the option of getting that from multiple angles. Once I had the sequence of gifs it was easy enough to animate them using Gifworks. It wasn't hard, but it was time consuming. You'll note that I haven't done it for the campaign that I'm currently running (also, I don't have a full world map for that one, so...).

Progress update:

Im done(/cough..partially) with geography and Demography:
Longer writeup soon...

Just teaser: ....to be continued

Kingdom of Sak`art`velo (Or Georgia on Georgian native ;) )

Size:69,700 km squared

Divided in 4 different type terrain with different densities of pop and climate to some extent.

Population: 1,5 mil
Noble households: 3746
Dragon riders households: 75

Some Medieval math is noble household /200 population....I have made it here one per 400 population..due stringiness of nobles about titles and pure blood, aryan attitudes and like.

Population density ranges from 45/km2 to as low as 10/km2.

Around 3,2mil livestock(2/3rds Fowl(chicken,goose,duck) and1/3rd diary/meat animals-cows,pig,sheep,goats).

Kingdom has:
- zero Big Cities( up to 100k+)
- 6 Cities(8-12k pop)
- 19 Towns(1-8k pop)
- 2966 villages (Villages range from 20 to 1,000 people, with typical villages ranging from 50-300.)

- 29 Castles(Forts) (not to confuse with local nobles Keeps)
- 10-13 ruins/abandoned Castles(Forts)

Thing to note:
Urban population(Cities/towns) is 11% of total population which is very high for medieval standards(4-6%),but thats due extensive trade and "metal industry".

Trade: (4 pillars of their trade)(must work on it some more)
Export:
1) Weapons/Armor -renown for it
2) Quality Wines from coastal region
3) Wool and wool products (from highlands)
4) Slave trade

Import:
1)Quality Horses
2)Grain(food) if bad year
3)Olive oil

Though Im open for suggestion what exactly Noble household means:
Grandpa/Grandma+Husband/Wife+2*children ...or anyone has different suggestion? (more children ? 3? ) remember this is Average number.
Thanks

Credits:
Medieval Demography made easy

Brandon Blackmoores calculator based on above. (Is basing Urban pop on 11%)

S.John Ross calculator also based on above article is using 6% for urban population.

What do you think:

To make "Liquid wealth" of Kingdom,City,Town,Village...

Steps:
1) Figure Average wealth of subject
2) 10% is liquid wealth that could be acquired inside month or so

*Modern Campaign is 20.000 USD :::> 13680 Euros ...So 2.000USD or 1370 EUR,shouldnt be to hard to cashout(gather) for Average employed citizen inside one month
-or maybe 20% to take into account black fonds,banks...?

Ofc since it is Medieval there is NO chance some Monarch could raise any bigger fragment of that money.
Thought just that it would be nice for eyeball figure...

For Kingdom it would be easy...just multiplie population with starting wealth/10.
For Cities,Towns,Villages it would be much harder since youd have to first figure average wealth of that population.

Also with using Average wealth we could determine net value of Kingdom.

Does anyone have formulas for taxes? Kingdom scope...or budget of one

So, for Georgia, I'm seeing a dualistic Ubergod, something like the Sun (Deela-Malkh) and the Shadow (Ishtar-Deela), lord of Heaven and keeper of Hell, meaning that that part of the religion is morally neutral. Possible ascetics who pray to this god(s).

Ahriman is a personification of chaos, a void that is the source of all evil. In Deela's role as king of the underworld, he is still beneficent. Ahriman, which is an 'it', just destroys, though he grants power to his disciples. [iffy on this, but i like the three way interaction]

Earth is in the care of seven archangels. This Heptad is somewhat nebulous - there are only seven at a time, but which seven may change. Members of the Heptad are periodically born in human form, becoming heroes, those their angelic nature is never certain during their lives. Individual archangels are worshiped, but they have no temples or priests of their own. The Heptad serves a roll similar to the greek and roman gods in modern society - they are just symbols.

Adam, Eve and Lilith figures to explain the Giants and the modern race? Where did cyclops come from?

The actual church will center around the prometheus figure (yes, jesus was a blacksmith - or at least a bronzesmith) with fire worship. His son is the actual blacksmith, first to forge iron with fire and has the largest hero cult. Plenty of room here for Knightly orders and such, there are lots other heroes in those legends.

Is this working for you? Change anything you want, do as thou see fit, I just enjoy tinkering with religions.

Is anyone interested in my generating a bunch of earth-sized worlds using Fractal Terrains Pro? I can generate some worlds with the proper blend of mountains, plains, oceans, and forests. The new FTPro even puts in rivers and lakes.

I'm no expert with the program yet, but I can certainly generate some maps and we can vote on things. We can then talk political boundaries, start plopping down empires, etc.
