Oh, I don't agree with that. Both Big Eyes Small Mouth and FUDGE are fully generic as far as genre is concerned. Of course BESM is anime-inspired, but anime is a style more than a genre; and I've used BESM to run campaigns set in Middle-Earth and on Barrayar, so its applicability goes beyond anime source material.
