[IW]Project Valkyrie
Sooner or later, Homeline is going to have a crosstime war on its hands, maybe with Nazis, maybe with something they have't discovered yet. It's time to start recruiting an army now, but where are you gonna get brutal warriors by the score without revealing things you shouldn't? Well, in some timelines, you can dress a bunch of chicks in armor and have your pick of Vikings - just have a trauma center standing by.

Re: [IW]Project Valkyrie
The best source is military units that were wiped out, of course that works best with naval forces since they can vanish without having to either provide a body or bring people back from the dead.
Of course if Homeline goes from infiltration and small actions to fighting an outright war, I think it's time to reconsider if the Secret is worth keeping. Obviously it's already out of the bag, now go out and get allies. |

Re: [IW]Project Valkyrie
Good idea---sort of a "Heroes in Hell", only you rescue them at the instant history says they die---aided by some kind of illusion to disguise the kidnapping.
Then get them to join your army. Still you might need to convince them that they too died, and serving your army is their afterlife. Quote:

Re: [IW]Project Valkyrie
Population Explosion, to revive an old term. Homeline colonies on uninhabited Earths are hit with propaganda and tax incentives to breed large families. As much mining as is technologically feasible is done from the Moon and Asteroids. Idyllic worlds for living on and in 18 or so years plenty of recruits/draftees.
Alternately, let one or two suitable TL 5 worlds in on the secret and recruit openly, Homeline citizenship in exchange for 20 years of military service (it works in Merlin) and their worlds gain from open trade with homeline in goods and services their tech cannot provide.

Re: [IW]Project Valkyrie
In addition to producing an army, it might be wise to prepare nuclear warheads with interquantum conveyers. It's not exactly politically correct, but it's probably better to nuke Reich 5 rather than try to fight them conventionally, if they get conveyers.

Re: [IW]Project Valkyrie
Actually, why not nuke Reich 5 now? Why wait for them to figure it out and become a problem? Stop the problem from forming in the first place. You know they will have no such qualms if they get the secret, so kill them now before they get the chance.
Oh, and don't be subtle, don't worry about "innocents". Destroy the entire world. Leave no one left alive. The number of innocents killed in Reich 5 are statistically insignificant compared to the numbers who would die if they ever figure it out. |
