Magic as powers: emulating the Aura spell
The Aura spell (B249) gives very useful information. I'm trying to work out how best to emulate it with magic as powers.
Detect (Auras) is Very Common, since all living creatures have one. If I equate the IQ roll to do analysis with the power to the roll to cast the Aura spell, then the things that the spell always tells you can come from basic analysis. The things you get on a critical success with the spell might come from critically successful basic analysis, or come automatically with the Analyzing (+100%) enhancement from Powers p47. Does that seem about right? Chopping the cost down comes later, since we're dealing with a 30-point power, with a +100% enhancement that's well worth taking. |

Yeah, this is pretty much how I've done it for my Aeon campaign
