They've messed up the SSL configuration again - https://www.warehouse23.com/ is redirecting to the non-SSL version, while https://secure.warehouse23.com/ is serving a cert that doesn't include its own name. I imagine they'll fix this in a few days as usual.

No, it's a separate item; there was a call for playtesters in June of last year.

Nothing has changed about the SSL configuration of Warehouse 23. The store itself does not serve pages via SSL, but once you begin the checkout process, the handoff is made to the secure server.
