I wrote an article for Pyramid #3/120 Alternate GURPS V but it did not make the cut. I think I submitted it too late, or maybe it just was not good enough.
The first part of the article I just put up on my blog and the second part I may post later.
They were originally two separate articles so that works well.
Magery Revisited is not terribly original but it scratches an itch and is not suitable for anything but an Alternate GURPS issue.
I hope someone finds it useful.

Finally got around to building my gnome replacements.
As with most of my Chalice World races they are a bit wierd....
Stonekeepers, Mystic gnomes of the Third Eye
And their mystic system of Inscription

Inscription was always meant to be a super memorization or chip slot system so these guys were primarily sages but they needed a bit more oomph.
I think they have it now.

So GURPSDay hit and I caught up on my blog reading. One interesting set of posts showed up on Malinka's Musings regarding martial arts.
Its taking a look at martial arts and adding Power-Ups to them. There is more to it so go take a look at the thread.
The reason I post here about it is it inspired me to review and make changes to the martial arts in my Chalice World setting.
I'll be posting links here as I finish them and creating the new versions as blog posts instead of pages. I think that will make browsing easier for the casual reader.

The first of the Chalice World setting martial styles has been updated.
Board and Blade is a practical limited frills style for front line soldiers. It is a skirmisher style using a shield and a fencing weapon (saber or rapier) for combat in loose formation or individually.

Um, it appears in the link to be called 'Board and Blade,' which is much less confusing than 'Board and Shield.' I mean, you could do the latter, I've seen small fence-boards turned into costume swords for Hallowe'en, but it does seem pretty odd.

Not wanting to give offense, just noticed the odd style-name, and had to say something.

Just finished my next one Dashing Fox which is a swashbuckler style. This one took a lot more time since its a cinematic style and I searched various books for power-ups.

And another swashbuckler martial style - The Flynn School.
This one emphasizes movement and acrobatics over sword skill.
It has one unusual power up which is the ability to channel the schools founder using the rules in GURPS Powers: Totem and Nature Spirits..

And last for the day...
The Three Swords School.
This is another Commonwealth (Human) style. This is for serious types only! Dilettantes need not apply.

This style gets its name from its focus in mastering three swords and its stylists are tough and deadly with a no nonsense reputation.
