Hmm. Didn't think of it as meditation. It was supposed to be part of a technological package similar to a cabal.
Introspective self study, extreme concentration, and separation from the base mundane realities sound like most of the realistic to me aspects of meditation.

Ah, Quirks is one I don't have... yet.

There's already no penalty to the IQ roll to wake up from a disturbance. I'm not seeing any penalties to Per rolls to detect the disturbance in the first place, either, except of course for the obvious lack of Vision with closed eyes.

I might suggest that what would require a sleeping person's unmodified sense roll would be automatically successful or at least at +10 "in plain sight" for the awake. Assuming senses other than vision unless you literally sleep with your eyes open, which some people and pets do. Creepy to see though.

There's no such modifier for Hearing, which is mostly the relevant sense.

It's a GM's prerogative to decide when and for what rolls are warranted.
There are many levels of alertness, and deep sleep is of course the deepest not during coma/unconsciousness.

I'm talking about the rules. There is such thing as "in plain sight" for Hearing.
