So, the team bit off more than they could chew and got captured. First thing, do the roll to see if Anêr's right arm is permanently crippled or not; this will probably affect whether he wants to retire the PC or not since he's a combat guy and it's a combat-focused game. If his player decides to retire but the others want to continue, I suggest that you let the captors sacrifice him in big, dramatic, fashion, played for maximum melodrama, before letting the PCs try to escape. As you pointed out, their captor is a Paranoid Loner. Would he trust guards who might be bribed, seduced, or otherwise corrupted with his precious sacrifices? Of course not! They can't be trusted! That's why the PCs are thrown into a dungeon guarded only by traps and puzzles, perhaps after a villainous monologue about his future plans mwahaha. |
