Dad hesitates: "Ok, but we're just going to drive by and look. No getting out of the car, no doing anything illegal or even suspicious."

Mom wants to come to, and see how all this works. When you get there, the area the Ambulance is in is not visible from outside of the storage area: its been quite cleverly parked.

Peter (impulsive) impatiently blurted out some buzz words hoping there would be recognition (Guessing Grunkle Rob/Bob is pretty high ranked to be considered...).

Peter will back off and let the grown ups talk.
Grunkle Rob listens to his niece talk about some of the other issues for a long time, and then says:

"I've heard of one or two cases that sound similar. Be careful. Don't advertise what he can do, and impress on him that he's mortal, and fragile, and there is a big world out there. At least one of those cases is dead."

Mom isn't gonna like that...

"Does the government have world travel? I try to be safe, but it can be dangerous! I need some of that special forces-CIA training!"

(Peter is gonna get himself sent to military school...)

Family adventure! They all pile in to the car!

When they see how things are situated and that they cannot get a view without entry, Peter asks...

"Can we get a storage space? Or can I send a magic bug in to have a look around the corner?"
Peter will try and convince them, to let him out of the car to light a piece of paper or trash on fire and create a Karana insect to have a look around.

Mom: Uncle Rob only knew about cases that sounded a little like yours. I don't think we can get government training for you. Especially before you can stay in one place."

Mom: "We do need some sort of training for you to help you stay safe though..."

They don't think its a good idea to go in, but scouting with the Karana bug sounds like a decent idea to them. Peter grabs a lighter (so convenient), grabs some trash (its way too convenient around here), and burns enough smoke to make the bug.

He flies the (moth?) into the sky, and gets a good view of the two vehicles. Men are currently packing them with gear. At least one item of gear seems to be a riffle case.

That he did not think it was entirely outlandish is enough to convince Peter he needs to have a conversation with Grunkle Rob.

He imagines a research facility with screens on racks along the walls displaying data and images across the multiverse with Brigadier General Grunkle Bob (does he do both? BGGB kinda flows...) overseeing the burgeoning jumper program and accidentally(?) contaminating Peter's special desert with chemical X... This explains everything. Kinda. Okay, not really...

"Whatcha doin' for Christmas Grunkle Rob?"

Rather than an moth, let's do a small housefly.

On a "fly-by" is there anyone in the office?

Do the men loading seem hurried or taking their time? Is there a sense of tension in their body language? Anything about their style of dress? Any firearms outside the case? Are they interacting with both vehicles?

Peter will relay what he sees from his bug's eye view to his parents.

"This is wicked suspicious, but like, not overtly illegal. I'll keep looking."

He does another sweep around the area to the limit of his connection range for anything else that may be suspicious.

Peter is at a bit of a loss. He wants to jump right out and stick his nose right in. He is used to being in sticky ambiguous situations, but he's never had to worry about endangering his parents before. He's never had to concern himself with long term ramifications of what happens after the action's over and they pull the mask off the monster to reveal it's just an old man.

Ruh Roh Goliath.

"Should we call the cops? I could try and run a little dinosaur in from the sidewalk and get someone else to freak out and call someone..."

Peter thinks of suggesting they following them if they leave, but struggles with if he wants to put his parents in that position and doesn't mention it.

(Grunkle Bob is FBI, not Military...)

Grunkle Bob: "I'll be with Mary and the kids here in Virginia, like every year."

(He works in the DC area)

I've got a mental note that there is a minimum size on Karana, and I thought it was a chunky insect, but I've let him do a fly (or three) before, so it seems that probably the minimum size (I don't want to allow arbitrarily small constructions... certainly nothing microscopic) A house fly or ladybug is a LOT stealthier than a grasshopper or moth, so that's useful for Peter.

The Karana range is 20 yards, I think. He can't get the fly to the actual building or vehicles.

Does "office" here mean at the front of the storage facility, or in the front of the warehouse? The men are actively going in and out of two units near the vehicles. There is a little house for a guard near the front, but its not manned. There is a phone number to reach management on the little house.

Dad: "Yeah, it makes me nervous just being here."

Dad: "What would we say? I saw someone with a gun case and an ambulance in this storage facility? They'd probably want names, especially if we want them to take it seriously, and they'd eventually find out we don't have a unit here."

Mom:"The Dinosaur might get them here, but I'm not sure they'd actually pay attention to the warehouse."

Peter will pick up the extension...
"So you have heard of cases like mine? Can I talk to one of them? What else do you know? Is it magic?"

The guard house or an internal office, whatever he can get to. He wants to see if anyone is working on the premises and observing this activity.

I'm assuming there are dumpsters here, as it's pretty standard.

"Okay, I don't want to get caught on some camera doing it, so I make another little fire behind the car here to make another critter, but this time I make a little monkey... and I have him take same of the small burning stuff over the fence and light the dumpsters on fire, and we call the fire department... I could cut the wires to the gate and get them stuck in there while they figure it all out... what do you think?"

Peter will do his best to talk them into his plan or assisting him in refining it so he can get to action!

Bob: "I've heard of cases like yours. We don't know where any of them are. We found the body for one of them. The other has gone missing for quite some time. No one has said "magic" in the official reports. They have mentioned claims and possible substantiation of supernatural phenomenon. I suspect some criminal or foreign group knows more than we do."

"I can't talk too much about it, but be careful, and I'll see what I can do after Christmas."

Yeah, no one is working here right now.

Dad: "That's arson and vandalism... how sure are we that these guys are criminal? What do you actually know about these guys?"

(Responsible Adults.... sigh)

If Peter can convince his parents these guys are crooks, they'll assist with the plan.

Peter will do a scan with his meta-sense. He thinks about the feeling of his visions and what it was homing in on in the area, and he thinks about the feeling just before he wakes up in a new place and the vibration that seems to go through him... he tries to marry the feelings together. Peter furrows his brow and concentrates.

"Not a thing. The PTB just showed me the place and the vehicles. What if we just pulled a fire alarm on t pole over there? Should we call Grunkle Bob?"

Peter is in the presence of the only people in the multiverse he defers to, and he's not convinced they are crooks when he stops to think it through. Maybe they are outworld agents, or something else entirely...

Spoiler:
He gets nothing. Nothing to seize on and dump his power into.

Dad: "Lets call Bob. This whole thing makes me nervous. Don't go talk to them. Bob made the comment about someone ending up dead."

Bob picks up the phone "Is he alright?"

"Oh good, I was terrified something had happened because I decided to wait until after Christmas."

"You're where? right. I did tell you that in the cases I knew about one victim is dead and the other missing?"

"Tell me everything you've seen."

Peter retells a detailed description of his vision, and adds the surveillance from the "Flyby", telling him he'll explain how when he sees him, but they got a peek with a "drone" basically, but it can't get any closer than it did (he's not going to explain Karana on the phone).

((OOC: What a way to spend Christmas Eve!))
