No one aims at Antipersonnel...
So no one really targets antipersonnel and for good reason.
Why not make it so antipersonnel batteries get taken out as a result of other systems getting blown away? How it works: Use the spillover fire rule on antipersonnel batteries. When any other weapon system is destroyed, there is a chance an antipersonnel battery is taken out as well. Spillover fire on attacks on treads don't threaten antipersonnel batteries. 1:2.....no chance 1:1.....no chance 2:1+...1 in 6 4:1+...2 in 6 Tell me what you think. I've play tested this twice and it works well and makes infantry a bit more effective.

Re: No one aims at Antipersonnel...
Another house rule I came across is that the reason that DIS results don't effect OGRES is because part of their defense are AP batteries.
Once all those AP batteries are gone, all components on the OGRE are susceptible to DIS results. I thought this was a very good house rule to make AP batteries a little more than an inexpensive OGRE accessory.

That's a cool house rule. Consider it stolen. I quite like the rule that when the CP is destroyed units can no longer combine fire, but it's not generally applicable.

Re: No one aims at Antipersonnel...
My house rule ...
Make AP effective against armor units as well, as much as a 1/1 attack can be effective (but that's the standard attack strength for a squad of MI so ...). AP can be combined in an attack against INF but not armor. Attacks against armor by AP are carried out on a 1 attack per AP against armor in range (if an OGRE has 3 AP left and wants to attack a MSL TANK at range 1, the OGRE can make three 1/1 attacks, using the AP, against the MSL TANK. The OGRE cannot make a combined 3/1 attack against the MSL TANK. If the target was a squad of MI, the OGRE *could* combine the three AP into a single 3/1 attack against the INF. AP cannot fire against armor and INF in the same turn. |

Re: No one aims at Antipersonnel...
AP would be more of a target if INF weren't so utterly useless.
As to OGREs and D results: In my "_OGRES IN SPAAAACE_" rules, OGRE components take D results same as non-OGRE units (component is unusable next turn); tread unit D results remove 1/2 the ATK value -- if there's a 0.5 left after all tread attacks have been made, roll 1d6; 1-3, the TU is eliminated.
