Anoras begins binding wounds, and doing a pretty good job. The count of dead and missing comes in: 13 are dead, and 19 are missing. The missing are the young and old: those who cannot run quickly. she hears reports of the enemy carrying away their dead and wounded.

Cassandra runs off to find Rhiannon. Its a ways through the swamp, but she gets there in a few minutes. The old witch is pouring through her books, looking for something. Fenian is not there. She doesn't look up when she hears Cassandra: "go away! I'm busy! It can wait!" She seems emotionally distraut, which is unusual for her.

OCC: Old CPR training: you never ask the general bystanders to do something. You ask someone specific.
