If it takes longer, interest will most likely flag (unless there are secret texts by the man himself in the book).
It would be nice if there was a preview or advertising material that we could start promoting. I'm not going to claim that more than fifty people listen to me but about half of them know who Terry Pratchet is and don't play GURPS.

I suppose it's something that I could and should do myself but it feels like it needs to come from the centre and be shared by the spokes (like I did with Dracula dossier Kickstarter etc)

I've been running Discworld 2e preview games at cons for years now. I suspect that they've become "that wacky thing that Phil Masters does that he keeps saying is for a book that never gets published" by now. Previews too far ahead of the fact may be downright counterproductive.

Exactly. Previews are prepared and ready to go, but running those previews too early would have a negative impact on the game. It's better to hold off until the title is at print and an official release date is announced.

Thanks. I follow Steve's lead here and am doing all I can to keep the company healthy and here five, ten, and twenty years from now. Steve's guidance and advice, along with help from Andrew, Sam, and several others in the building, are all vital to this. They keep me sane.

+2 in the confidence vote.
Armchair quarterbacking the second oldest surviving RPG company seems a fools errand.

On the positive side GURPS is still listed as a priority for 2015 and we did see a fair amount of new stuff.
The advertising in Marvel and DC sounds nice, though probably Munchkin focused.
Still if people come to the site they may expand their choices and buy different stuff, like GURPS.

I think you know me well enough to know that I don't say anything I don't mean, Phil. Just keep us in marching order and the rest will sort itself. :-)

But who's the caller? (And did anyone remember the graphing paper?)

He thinks he's sane. :O

While we get frustrated with the delays, we understand that they are done with good reasons.

Considering we've been discussing GURPS Discworld, do we get to call him the Bursar? <g>

Agreed. I've seen too many companies overreach themselves and fail because of it; I can wait a few months for a new book or two. (I've been waiting years for something new for In Nomine... which shows just how patient and optimistic I am.)
