Lost in Dreams (Jane Doe) - Page 23

She has to go about 40 yards before the curve of the ship puts her out of site. They aren't following her.

At some point she will need to switch from a dead sprint to a sustainable jog, at that point she can probably talk without slowing down, if slowly and between breaths.

The System access unit speaks first though:

"Miss White! We've stopped them! you can stop running now. "

She thinks that might be Mr. Welker's voice.

Ahead of her, she sees a woman jogging towards her. Something seems off. Something about her face looks a little too aggressive.

"Mister... Welker? There's... a lady who looks angry..."

I guess it's good she slowed down from a full sprint to catch her breath to prepare to talk, because now she's going to do a 180 and try and reverse direction, since the way behind sounds clear.

The woman breaks into a run, chasing Olive.

Mr. Welker: "Mrs. Morin! Mrs. Morin! What are you doing? Why are you chasing her? stop!"

Olive hears someone fall down behind her.

Mr. Welker: "I've diskineticized her. What did you do to make these people attack you?"

"Nothing I'm aware of, they seemed to have done it out of the blue!"

Mr. Welker: "And you say you remember how many days back? Lets you back to your room. This time don't open it!"

"Okay... I only opened it because my SAU told me that they wanted to speak to me. Do you know if they were acting rationally up to that point?"

Mr. Welker: "Just a second" She only hears muttering, then he returns. "They don't remember anything. It matches the description of the mental problems many have been reporting, but I'm not sure if I believe them or not. The actions seem a touch too deliberate."

"So far all of the behavior has been very confused and very ... physical. All about eating, pooping, sniffing... you get the idea. This wasn't just an attack, they requested with you. And that feels more intelligent than anything else I've seen due to the mental weirdness. Its also very suspicious that they're targeting you of all people."

"Is there any way of predicting who this will happen to next? I don't really feel capable of defending myself against fit individuals like that."
