Mimic Beacon
A Mimic Beacon is a handy utility device deployed like a thrown smoke grenade (as in its source inspiration XCOM 2). Once activated, it waits until it stops before projecting a figmentary decoy that can draw enemy fire but has no special properties to incite enemies to attack it over other targets.
I was thinking of building this device as a psychotronic device based on the Hologram power. Going back to the build, Illusion seems to serve the purpose and adding sound (also taking out ranged, adding electrical, leaving ergokinetic so antipsions could still disrupt it) turns it into a 30 point advantage. Adding levels of Reliable would represent the quality of manufacture that would serve for what would be a skill roll for the Holograph skill. The item ends up a $300+20/level, 4 pound object. All project a convincing likeness of a friendly soldier to distract enemies, for (level) minutes, with a (level) penalty to identify it as false as is the case with the Holograph power (Psionic Powers p35). It would react to incoming fire but not be capable of inflicting any damage on its own. It can be overloaded by incoming fire, as well as disabled by an EMP or anti-psion. As of yet I don't think it would also appear to attack, though if it should do that for additional cost it should be possible for such a device. Of course, anti-psions with True Sight would immediately notice it's false, but everyone else (psionic or not, including basic cameras) would see it. If you can think of a variation on its price for one that does incite its enemies to attack it over real enemies, that could help too. Last edited by Mithlas; 12-15-2016 at 01:45 AM.
