I see this as the point that destiny gets creative and downright cruel. If your destiny is "be killed by a nuclear bomb at 3:14 pm on August 17, 2019" I would make a mental note that it never said a nuclear bomb detonation. You sneak onto an enemy nuclear base on the day, and a criticality accident in the deweaponizing building causes a faulty emergency door to close on your head.
