(IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]

Luisa continues walking away, backwards. Elena joins her, somewhat perplexed, but clearly with luisa and not the other two. Peter identifies where Luisa is going -- the vehicle! they still have about half of the supplies unpacked. And Golaith is still shadowing Lusia in the woods, ready for a fight.

Peter is unsure as to who is insane here and isn't about to run out into the path of potential gunfire...

"Elina, Luica, are you really going to just leave us here? I'm only 12 years old... you really think I'm some kind of diabolical criminal!?!?

Luisa: "Diabolical? couldn't say. Criminal-- almost definately. You'll find your way back. I can even send people to pick you up if you'd like. But I'm not going to continue traveling with you."

Elena: "If you aren't in something fishy, why didn't say what was going on before now? we asked you two enough."

"Kumar said if I told the truth, I'd end up studied in a lab, and never get home, so I had to keep how I got here a secret. He didn't tell me that just having a secret would make everyone I met into crazy people!"

At this point, Peter has just about reached his limit, and is audibly on the verge of panic and tears.

"Then he's as foolish as you are. I want no part in this."

((OOC: What is Kumar doing? This situation is of his making and he's letting the child do all the talking...

I would like a hint as to who is insane here, or if there is something more sinister going on, I would think the Sensitivity advantage would clue Peter in... it's starting to look like everyone involved is nuts...))

Results of sensitivity:

Kumar is trying to steer clear of possible shots. In a more meta sense, I'm letting the PC do the talking and directing. If you think Kumar should take a specific tack, feel free to suggest it.

There's a touch of overreacting on all sides. Luisa is a little paranoid about criminal behavior by homeliners (Peter counted), and the rebuffing of constant questioning just fed that. She's dealt with off-world criminals, but always at a severe advantage and with someone nearby to protect her. She doesn't know what to believe, but she does know you tried to cover it up by claiming to be undercover agents or hiding from infinity, so the truth is at least that bad. She is very scared of prison. She's very much a civilian, regaurdless of how she can handle outtimers. She was relying on Kumar (technically in charge of security) to feel safe, and now he's part of the 'enemy'. Or at least has other priorities.

Peter really isn't acknowledging this and is being rather defensive about her situation. Instead of acknowledging her fears he accused her of being mentally unsound in a very visible and dismissive way. At this point she's not really willing to continue working with him and kumar -- she has no trust in them and she's scared. She is probably open to arranging for situations in which they part ways but leaves useful items behind or sends a group to help them or work with them as long as she doesn't have to trust Kumar and Peter.

((OOC: Peter has no idea about this organization, Homeline (other than a drive through it), or any of the things involved that she's concerned about, so he's not equipped to deal with her extreme reaction.

Kumar acted as though Peter's presence wasn't crazy, so Peter accepted that it wasn't. Apparently it is the equivalent of hi being in a third world nation with peace corps, or doctors without borders, which WOULD require a good explanation.

So Peter will keep his trap shut and try not to make matters worse. ))

Peter is silent as Luisa backs up to the vehicle, and Elena starts it up and they drive off.

Kumar: "And here we are. I'm sorry this happened. Most people wouldn't have pushed. And I was hoping for a bigger group."

"At any rate, our first job is to get out of here. How are you at hiking? I seem to remember something about you running around the woods for a while before you found miracle workers."

"Having a cover story would have probably helped... and she was totally nuts, which didn't... Yeah, I've spent most of my time since leaving home hiking around."
