Any AI, actually. Besides, AI skill-ups are cheap.

If you can get a deep brainscan, you get to know the personality by other means before that. Unless you're doing something illegal, of course.

What? (The different level of scan, AI, etc always seem like a maze to me >_<)

Okay... Yeah...

But, what other means do you have to get to know the personality of someone before deep brainscanning?

And, is it not something Xoxnappers could do?

Or, um...

I still think my head may have just slipped under water...

If you kidnapped someone for a brainpeel or deep brainscan, you're probably not acquainted. If you're trusted with making someone's Shadow, then either by friendship or by a professional NDA, you are trusted with all sorts of detail about the person being scanned.

Yes, you can do an Eidolon from Research alone, but you're more likely to miss something less obvious if you're doing it discretely.

Sure you are. How are you going to find out if they're worth the effort without getting to know them first? Okay, you might not know them personally, but you certainly know quite a lot about them, and there's a fair chance you used social engineering at some point during the process.

Sure, you know the public data (which is the reason for the popularity that results in xoxes being of value). You probably don't know about the more personal stuff.

Unless you were doing investigative work to get to know them better, which you probably are because you need to know quite a lot about a person before it's all that practical to grab them without getting caught.

I suspect the sort of info that is useful for a kidnapping (e.g. movement schedule; security measures) is not the same sort of info that is useful for replicating a personality (e.g. stuff only done in secure, private areas; pillow and other private talk). Of course, black market buyers might not know much/anything about it either.

I assume it is a lot easier to just brainscan someone than to try to manually come up with a list of everything about their personality. Plus you want their experiences not just their personality.
