Ah, no, because the income is figured in GURPS$, which are constant dollars as of the year 4/e came out.

World average wealth, at the very least, has gone through the roof. My father lived in Brazil for a few years in the early 1980's, and when he went back in about 2010 he talked about how radically things had changed for the better in terms of material wealth. And this can be seen all around the world.

But the granularity is kind of humorous. Of course we won't all have 50% more stuff next year.

Well, I'd be happy with some of that (4 to 6 Ikea Shelves! 2 to 3 TVs!), while other parts would be more annoying (1 to 1.5 cars! 1 to 1.5 Nintendo Switches!)

Starting around 1995 the number of people living in extreme poverty (less than $2.15 a day 2017 dollars) started dropping. Not the percentage, the actual number of people. Covid kicked it back up to about 2016 levels but it has dropped again although still above 2018 levels.
