Re: GURPS On Demand
I'm also looking for POD hardcopies of After The End 1 & 2; I went over to drivethrurpg cos it seemed from the kickstarter as if I might be able to get them there but no joy and they are not on Amazon either. Will they get there at some point? I assume the files to print them etc are all in place since the kickstarter ran a year ago.
While we're at it, how about POD versions of the Dungeon Fantasy modules? I know there is probably less demand for them now with the standalone Dungeon Fantasy game line but the GURPS ones would still be cool to have.

Last response from someone at SJG was Phil Reed over a year ago - I guess this thread is not being monitored at all lol :(

Re: GURPS On Demand
I just ordered Gurps Horror off Amazon and received it. Warehouse 23 lists it as a hardcover, for $29.95, Amazon has it as a paperback, for $24.95, with no option for a hardcover. I received a paperback. If the "buy with ShopPay" would have let me order it from Warehouse23 in hardcover, I goofed. If not, it might be prudent to update the description on Warehouse23.

Re: GURPS On Demand
I ordered 20+ POD GURPS books through Amazon three months ago. I also ordered a similar amount of POD D&D 3e books from the DM's Guild which I think does their printing through Drive Through RPG. The D&D books just arrived yesterday so I am ready to do a comparison. It is thus:
1. The GURPS Basic Set and DFRPG books are the same quality as the D&D ones which are almost as good as my originals. 2. The other GURPS books have lots of problems. The print jobs were bad with many manufacturing errors on the covers. This includes the gloss layers peeling off, creased covers, and giant scrape marks. Several of them also arrived with damage to their interiors/spines. In the end, I had to order replacements for about a fourth of my GURP 4e POD books which I did receive quickly. 3. The non-DFRPG GURPS books were either the same price or more expensive than the D&D ones while also having thinner pages/covers and not being in color. For example, I think I paid slightly more for the hard cover color versions of the Basic Set as I did for the PHB, MM, and DMG, which were also in hardcover and color. $110 vs $90. It gets kinda ridiculous when you start comparing the less deluxe GURPS books to D&D sourcebooks which are just flat out better in terms of physical quality while also being much cheaper. 4. Buying POD is still better than buying used most of the time, at least compared to the condition of the books I wanted and that were being offered. This is the first time I've ordered POD. I hope my comparison helps people so they know what they get. Also, I just checked Amazon and I don't see the Hardcover Color version available for the Basic Set anymore. Anyways, this whole experience has made me feel somewhat ambivalent about the quality of Amazon POD. The DFRPG books and Basic Set were good while the other ones were embarassingly bad in terms of their physical quality. I wonder if the quality control people actually only cared about the quality of the "nice" color books I ordered while completely disregarding the B&W ones. Re: GURPS On Demand
For what it's worth: Over the past few years, I've ordered all the 4e B&W titles (and a number of 3e) off amazon.ca. They've all been fine, no imperfections.

Re: GURPS On Demand
Regarding POD quality, I've ordered two softcover black and white GURPS POD books through Amazon: "Discworld Roleplaying Game", in 2021; and "GURPS Infinite Worlds", just recently. I was completely satisfied with the print quality of "Discworld", and disappointed with the print quality of "Infinite Worlds".
In the case of "Infinite Worlds", the text looks as if it might be very slightly lower resolution than "Discworld", but more importantly, black images -- including not only portions of illustrations, but also the black "frame" that surrounds the pages, and even the thick black frames around the text boxes -- are marred by thin vertical light lines (maybe 2 to 4 per page), which run the height of each page, and are not in the same positions on each page. |

Re: GURPS On Demand
I bought a PoD of Meta-Tech in Australia. The quality is excellent.
