Re: Dungeon Fantasy, box or pdfs. Also, need to convert D&D characters
Yeah you can spend a great deal of time trying for the most exact possible conversion but it's much quicker and more satisfying to translate flavour. Use standard Dungeon Fantasy templates as a guideline.

Re: Dungeon Fantasy, box or pdfs. Also, need to convert D&D characters
So sorry if I post a reply after all this time, but to kind of "complete" the discussion without opening another thread:
in case I got a boxed Dungeon Fantasy RPG powered by GURPS, what are the supplements I would find useful to buy in the future? I saw there is a companion, then delvers to grow, then the "normal" (not "powered by GURPS") line? Or the latter is already in the box, or maybe I should take just a few of them instead? |

If you're going to get books from the GURPS Dungeon Fantasy line (which is different from but largely parallel to the DFRPG), don't bother with the first three. That material is mostly reproduced in the DFRPG books. Though it pains me to say it, most of the monsters are also reproduced, so the GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Monsters line is largely redundant. DF13 (Loadouts) uses Basic Set armor, not Low Tech armor, so that's not going to do you any good. Of the remainder, it really depends on what you'd like. DF16 (Wilderness Adventure) fills a significant gap in the DFRPG, so I'd recommend that more or less without reservation. If you want sages, ninja, and so on in your games, grab suitable volumes there. I think treasure could be addressed better in the DFRPG, so DF8, the GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Treasure series, and DF6 may be useful, in that order (with the caveat, again, that GURPS DF uses Basic Set rather than Low Tech armor, so you'll need to make adjustments).

I second Delvers to Go
You can find them on gaming ballistic's website. The store has a license to sell GURPS 4th edition and Fantasy Trip products one of the only licenses so they are good quality products. Select the Store link and click products and search for Delvers. Of course start with the Dungeon Fantasy RPG from there: Companion 2 Monsters 2 Magic Items 2 From the Dungeon Fantasy original line. Dungeon Fantasy 13 - Loadouts The Dungeon Fantasy Monsters sets Dungeon Fantasy 8 Treasure Tables The truth is except for the first 3 pretty much any of the original line can be mined for ideas and with relatively minor tweaks other classes.

... but it should be noted works just fine with OG GURPS Dungeon Fantasy. The page references obviously don't work, but you can generally find the information with a bit of familiarity (and/or help from Google) - sure, there's no "Exploits page 20" to check for information on "Dungeon Parkour," but those rules do exist in the old line (a quick look online identifies them as starting on page 7 of DF2: Dungeons).

You may want to recheck the links, they seem not to work, and I'm not sure if it's my machine, or your links.

The BBCode for them looks right but I also see them as not being links at all.
