Munchkin Vinyl Spyke Hireling Card

I recently bought the Munchkin Spyke Vinyl Figure and it came with its own hireling card, the card says you can play this on your turn and let Spyke face and stare at an opposing player, that player can not interfere with your combat or play any cards that affect you when Spyke is looking at them. But i have a few questions to ask. Is this card permanently in play until it is stolen or discarded? Can its be stolen or discarded? Can you choose different players each turn? Please answer these, as I want the smoothest Munchkin game there could be.

In general, all promo cards are put into the appropriate deck, as any other card. "House rules" if you are the owner of both the game and Spyke are up to you...
