Anyway, I'll go looking for high up places where the hive would go easily unnoticed (Under the belfry of a bell tower perhaps?), then I guess I'll go climb up and stick it on with a little bit of construction foam. Unless they can't be flying, then I guess I'll just stick under my bed in a rented room. Quote:

Political highlights include a recent debate about building extended walls to protect against raiders, and a certain "architect Uglin" giving a speech about his order of the stone and how they should be considered a knightly order. They meet back at about 2PM. Where will they meet?

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
So are the objections mostly practical (cost, effectiveness) or are they something else?
Well then... Are they light on the details as to exactly what Uglin's speeches are about? Is it just Uglin or does he have some kind of group behind/with him? |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Vassarious will have to find a way to research the locations of the known Stone Melders...
I presume they will meet at an alehouse or eatery if they are doing so mid-day. |

The talking points are how no one else knows how to irrigate the crops and feed the city, no one else knows how to keep the mines from collapsing, about the great material prosperity the engineers of the city bring, and about how this is as mystical, specialized, and as worthy of respect as magic. He also complains about how the city should be all about the city orcs who built it, and how the knightly orders weaken the city orc control of it. Some people say he hints that the knightly orders are trying to replace the stone melders, but others say he would never say something so treasonous and ungrateful. Quote:

"I've done some looking into the political situation. There's some debate about expanding the town walls; the orcs who live in the wilderness feel the city-folk just want to cut them out, the lizard folk feel the wilderness orcs want the city to get plundered-- Nasty rhetoric." "The order of the stone have this fiery speaker Uglin who's really going after the knightly orders. He's making remarks about the knights replacing the stone melders, stonework being as mystical as magic. Think it's just words or maybe there's something there?" |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Vassarious offers a more subdued greeting and suggests a walk to keep on the move against prying eyes and ears.
"I've heard much the same regarding the political situation. It feels like there is a power play in the works and one of these players is about to over-reach toying with ancient powers. I have heard about this architect in reference to his interest in unusual trade... Perhaps I can try to arrange a meeting. I'm sure his speech will give us the flavor of how best to approach him. He may be involved, or be serving as inspiration for another..." |
