I can think of four ways it might be useful

1) if you want to commit crimes with it
2) if you are adventurous or idealistic and want to be a agent for or against a country/organization
3) win the prizes for paranormal abilities, with the Randi prize shutdown that might get you a million total
4) just in case of the right kind of emergancy

The last is the only one that would tempt me since the others all have too much risk for the reward.

I suppose you are OK if Whamalamiel has an account with some legitimate bank somewhere for the money to transfer to - "withdrawals" have to go somewhere, they can't just vanish or they're going to start showing up in internal audits banks do specifically to look for weird stuff that might be hacking. Whamalamiel probably needs to assign somebody to periodically make some withdrawals from his account too - lest the software flag this account with the weird title that apparently only ever gets deposits for human attention.

I wouldn't want it. If I found I had it, I'd demonstrate it, and see if it was possible for science to find out how it worked, since it clearly breaks much of current science.

Much easier than dealing with his predecessor* Baal-Exigesdenarii a syncretic Roman-Phoenician deity with the same portfolio. Those ancient Roman coins are getting hard to come by.

*Who may have been the same entity at a different point in history.

Different Baal-hyphen.

Yes. I would use it to win the Randi Million Dollar challenge and then probably never use it again.

I'd want to avoid publicizing the fact I had the ability, as plenty of unsavory sorts would want to strongarm me into using it to nefarious ends (espionage, assassination, robbery, altering documents, etc), and I'd likely end up burning through my lifespan in short order either working for or running from them (likely the former - given they'd know the power made it impossible to force me to do anything via threats to myself, they'd undoubtedly target family members instead).

Fully agreed with you.
