Re: Home Made Box Of Holding
Those are great! How are you guys burning the Munchkin stuff on there? Not free handing it are you? I especially like the last box; the dividers in there made it easy for you to draw out those cards. Can you guys post some directions for the rest of us who want to build one?

Re: Home Made Box Of Holding
For the burning, I used graphite paper under a printed page with the Munchkin on it to transfer the design, then an inexpensive woodburning tool to do the actual burning.
I also started with a box from Michael's and used basswood (similar to balsa wood) for the dividers and separators. |

Re: Home Made Box Of Holding
Here's my own modest little effort...
Lid 1 and lid 2 show the clasic Munchkin Dude, done in pokerwork*. Inside 1 and inside 2 shown the interior or the box, subdivided with rigid perspex sheets and padded with plastifoam to stop the contents rattling about. Inside the lid is a hinged compartment (held closed with magnets) for storing rule sheets, bookmarks, etc. *"Pokerwork" is burning an image or design into the surface of wood. Any decent arts and crafts shop should be able to provide you with what is basically a soldering iron with changeable screw-in tips.

Re: Home Made Box Of Holding
Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'm quite pleased with it.
As to wanting one of your own, make one... It took me about 2 weeks to put my box together, and I'm really not much of a carpenter or anything. Things to keep in mind - - Plan out your box and how cards, dice, coins, etc will lay in it. - Allow enough space for growth. Conan, Reindeer Games, more promos, Half-Horse, new Fairy Dust cards and dice are all coming soon and they'll need somewhere to go. - You don't need to spend a lot of money on materials. My box is made from just one skirting board plank (£5/$8), some plywood sheet (scrap from the hardware store where I got the skirting board (50p/80c)), brass hinges (2 pairs@ £1.50/$2), brass latches (£2/$3), some perspex sheeting (claimed from the bin at work), PVA wood glue, thin nails, and some padding (all next to nothing). - Use good quality tools. - Keep your corners totally square. - Take time to put it together and it will look so much better. If you feel the desire, Be inspired!
