Yes, I saw -and suffered- that too . . . Definitely that was one of the many things that did hurt the reputation and attractive of GURPS for Spanish gamers. And the situation hasn't changed very much, IMHO.

In post #14 Kuroshima commented that the Spanish version was published with "Esto no lo entiendo pero ocupa cuatro lineas" and "Modificador de noseque", which he translated.

When Mateus replied to Kuroshima, he quoted "Esto no lo entiendo" as the ultimate in low quality translation, which made him revise his opinion of the Brazilian publisher, which is called Devir, from the lowest of the low.

"Is the end" is idiomatic for "the ultimate in", or "the epitome of".
In Portuguese one doesn't have to put in what something is "the epitome of", since it's understood in context.

Well, if anything, "La Factoria de Ideas" does not seem likely to publish the Spanish edition of GURPS 4th ed, given that Edge Entertainment seems to be the publisher of SJGames stuff, including the old Discworld book. Devir IIRC, published D&D here, and their quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Me, I've decided to forget about Spanish editions of GURPS. I'll purchase them, as a way to vote with my wallet, but they go to my self ;)

I did the same about brazilian GURPS. I have most of the original stuff for 4th edition (that being in english language, of course), some in dead tree, others in PDF (mostly small stuff, Pyramid, etc.), but I can't wait for a half-arsed translation.

Even if they (Devir) mean well. And they really do, but it's still half-arsed.

I get that translating RPGs is a niche market, but hell, half-arsed is too good for some of the things I've seen... like inserting a "no" into a sentence, and completely reversing the sense of a rule...
