Julian stays in the building and keeps his head down. This doesn't prevent him from coming face to face with the master of the ship a couple of times, who ignore him. The man has a bunch of magical effects on him, including several vasic effects... five to be exact. Julian can tell where each stone is. None of them are effects Julian recognizes, but are more similar to what are on the ship.
The ship is scheduled to leave in the morning. Two men are assigned to Julian's room. They speak the local language, but most of what they speak is Riask. They talk about it being nice to eat properly cooked meals instead of "stew, stew, and boiled pie". And being in a "Town with women who smile at you instead of men who shoot at you". They seem to be sailors rather than soldiers. They also seem to be only a little drunk: They talk about how they are supposed to leave tomorrow and be in good shape, but they've obviously taken as much as they thought they could get away with. They intend to mostly talk to each other, but they assume Julian can't understand what is being said. They are incorrect.

(They haven't been looting... they've been drinking when they're supposed to ship out sober in the morning)
The leaving is to go back into the desert, not back to riask.

... I don't know what you expect Julian to do with this situation.

Julian can be hard to motivate or predict. At least for me.

I don't say anything. No reason to let anyone know I can speak Riask.

Well, they at least would rather be spending money on the town than fighting.
They do drop one name of note: the name of the Captain from Riask. They call him Captain Piligree. Julian dreams of Captain Piligree that night, speaking with Sarim about the war. Julian can't follow all of the places mentioned. What does come up is pay though. Sarim is passing on a message that if Piligree doesn't start showing more results his rate will be reduced. "You told Yatreb we'd have isolated the enemy by now. Instead he remains strong. Your flying fort is impressive to look at, but what has it acomplished?" Piligree (who is much easier to understand): "Its kept you in the war. Its given you the upper hand. All the enemy's current focus is on catching and countering me. And He's pulling in support from other rulers. If it was a simple contest between the two brothers, it would be over. I've distracted massive enemy resources. The ground troops need to capitalize on that." Sarim: "That was not your agreed role!" Piligree: "No, I've been more successful in my role than anticipated." Sarim: "Yatreb doesn't think so." Piligree: "Then perhaps I need to talk to him." Julian wakes up in the morning to lots of bustle as the ship sets off again. Breakfast is porridge with eggs and vegetables. The ship sets off before the sun is half way up the sky, and the whole building seems to relax. People aren't doing much and moving much slower. Dinner is porridge.

As the building relaxes, I ask someone if the ship tends to come by here often.

Lol. It seems Tarbreth is the gold standard for unsavory captors. Though to be fair these people are also Riask-speaking military. You have no idea if they met each other if the reaction would be to buy a round of drinks or to try and kill each other.
