Description: A round room 7 yards across. In the center is an ugly statue of an ogre head with Opals for eyes. Opal Eyes: If a player touches the opal eyes with a part of their body or with an object (like a glove or prybar), they must make resist a roll vs Charm cast with skill 20. The charm effect lasts for 1 minute, and the spell compels its subject to attack "Their friends, companions, and accomplices". The Opal eyes loose their effect if taken from the room. Treasure: Two 7.5 Carat Opals, worth $3018.75 each. It takes a ST 20 check to remove them, or breaking the DR 15 HP 15 stone head. Entrances: Three stone archways, evenly spaced

Description: a round natural cavern 9 yards across. A blazing pillar of fire sits in the center, perhaps three yards across. The Pillar: Does 4d6 burning to anyone in the center, and 1d6 on a momentary touch. It counts as essential fire Vision: +0 (full light) Hearing: -3 (roaring fire) entrances: four natural entrances, evenly spaced. Monsters: Two Fire Elementals (From DFRPG Monsters OR Living Infernos from DF 9)* with will 18. They call themselves "Scorch" and "Ash". They're rather talkative, asking about news of the outside world, and asking if they have anything interesting to burn (exotic substances that burn well are best). Scorch and Ash will happily talk and provide information even on a neutral reaction. Subjects they might talk about include the current name of the king, what the characters have seen in the dungeon so far, and what the elementals know about the dungeon... they can tell you it used to be an elemental place of magic, then some dwarves came, then constructs showed up, then elder things, then drakes, then some necromancer, then more elder things.. When Inside the pillar of fire, Ash and Scorch heal 2 HP per second. *These are only MOSTLY similar. Living infernos can have a much nastier aura, DFRPG fire elementals have a ranged attack. Treasure: The cave is covered in small nuggets of copper and silver: the equivalent of 206 bronze coins ($206, 4 lbs) and 32 silver coins ($640, .6 lbs). The Fire elementals aren't attached to this, but if the players didn't give them anything interesting to burn, they will get possessive of the drops, and will even fight to defend them, but give up quickly if the fight turns against them.

Description: A 6 yard by 3 yard passage, running north-south. Entrances: The north door has been smashed. The south door is a heavy ironbound door with an average (pick at +0) lock. Monsters: Eight Shield Golems. They have orders to attack anything that comes through the southern door. They will ignore intruders from the northern door, even letting them pass (but not return). A Heraldry or Hidden Lore (Magic Items) check will identify them as Shield Golems, made by the order of the gear to hold positions: they are fairly cheap to make, but excellent defenders. Code:
ST 14 HP 21 speed 5.00 DX 10 Will 8 Move 5 IQ 6 Per 8 HT 12 FP NA SM: 0 Dodge 11 Block 13 Parry 12 DR 4 Short sword (12): 1d6 imp OR 2d6 cut Skills: Shield-14, shortsword -12 Traits: Traits: Autonotom, Cannot kick, Doesn't Breath, Eat, Drink, or Sleep, Extra Legs (four legs), Unliving, Immunity to Metabolic Hazards, Indomitable, Reprogramable, No Blood, Unfazeable, Unhealing, Mute, shield-wall training Class: Construct Notes: The Golems may block for each other, and may attack without penalty despite using large shields. Each sword is $400 and 2 lbs. Each shield is $90 and 25 lbs.

Unfortunately, I haven't been really keeping up with all the posts, but it's very interesting to verify on occasion that Eric the Red is still so persistent: a pretty amazing accomplishment.
It gave me a cool idea: Would SJ Games be kind enough to honor this thread by posting a room description to the Daily Illuminator? Even better, to coordinate with Eric the Red so that the chosen post hits the Illuminator page at the same time as it gets appended to this thread. It would be a great promotion for Dungeon Fantasy as well. |

I doubt it.
Anyway, I’ve been up-to-date on my project, too. Have managed an area for each day so far. Link’s in my signature.

A Post in the Daily Illuminator would be most appropriate in December, when all of the projects are finishing up (thus letting you know who will actually finish), and a challenge for the next year could be issued. This thread would also be more impressive if we had everyone who started still posting. And its best when covering a wide range of projects. Ajardoor, is there a reason your blog isn't on Gaming Ballistics GurpsDay Feed? I can't find it when I go looking for it.

Description: A 3 yard by 15 yard natural tunnel filled with glowing green stalagtites and stalagmites about 3 feet long each. The tunnel has a slight curve to it, just enough to not be able to look strait through it. It counts as uneven footing. The whole passage gives off a lot of ambient mana. those walking through the passage will hear an eirie, other-worldly tune coming from the crystals. Prospecting will reveal that the stone is not similar to the stone the passage starts and ends in. Hidden Lore (Elder Things) will reveal this passage is a sort of elder thing, a dimensional creature that thrives on elder thing energies, and is functionally a pair of moving portals. It also has a tendency to help the elder things escape places they are bound to. Monsters: If attacked, the passage will respond as a living pit, but its not naturally aggressive, and will close off and flee if at all possible. Mana: Very High Vision: -2 (glow) hearing: -2 (music) Entrances: Natural Stone Caverns. They like to move about every 1d6/2+1 hours. Most moves are only a couple of dozen yards, but there is a one in six chance of a dramatic move. The two ends of the passage stay in the dungeon, on either sides of the portal, sometimes connecting the drake world and players world, and sometimes with both ends on a single side. A passage end can be "Called" by playing the music found in the tunnel (usually at -2 for the wrong instrument and -2 for playing from memory). The passage end will show up in about five minutes.

Entrances: The hall the room runs along, and an average wooden door at the back of the room.
