Bain puts his shoes on, as he talks to Vicious:

We have use for the skin and the head of the lion as well as for the head and the hoofs of the monster; that should be alright.

(OOC: Combat over, monster dead.)

The horrid beast takes the arrows to the head straight on, and it falls over immediately, dead without a prayer. Another notch for Bain.

Vic slices off the head of the monster's lifeless form. It will make a fine trophy.

(OOC: The decapitated head weighs 5 lbs.)

With that danger out of the way, the party continues to travel for the rest of the day until night falls.

Now the party must make camp and eat their dinner before going to sleep.

(OOC: Make the usual rolls for nighttime camping.)

Bain sets up the camp and the adventurers feed themselves and their prisoner...

Later that night, the party is alerted from their slumber by the noisemaker traps!
Looking around, the party finds 12 giant ants are stumbling towards their camp, mandibles flashing!

Combat starts, TURN 1

Bain is the first to act. He was in a sitting position when resting. The rest of the party are lying down.

Bain reacts as the creatures approach the camp and fall into his trap, He prepares to fight… it beigns!

He shoots the first arrow...
Breakthrough,
Then another,
Beyond the Horizon,
And a third one!
Chasing Downstream.

Each projectile hits their mark, taking 3 three monsters down, paving the way for the allies. What will his friends do?

Three of the monsters are taken off the board by Bain's skilful shooting.

The remaining 9 giant ants are unconcerned with the assault. They scuttle closer and closer to the camp...
(OOC: Move 5)

Vic picks up his sword and begins to stand up.
(OOC: Picking up the sword is a Ready, standing up would take 2 Change Positions.)

Gathika picks up her sword and starts to stand up, following Vic's lead.
(OOC: see the above, Gathika and Vic are still lying down.)

Telrith reaches for his shield and mace, his conjured friend keeping an eye on the prisoner.
(OOC: Readying a shield and a mace would take 2 turns in total.)

TURN 2

Bain sees the giant ants are closer to the camp.

As expected. Telrith keeps grabbing his weapons and getting up.


Mudborne is close to Telrith, awake, upright, and gripping his "smashing rock".

Bain prepares the following attack, he swiftly draws his arrow but the bow slips his hand and falls to his feet!

Says Bain to himself.
