Default [Magic] Accuracy add to parry?

On Accuracy it says "Makes a weapon more likely to hit by adding to the user’s effective skill."

Does this adding to skill also increase Parry?

No. There's a difference between effective skill and skill.

This thread suggests the effective skill language is key to increasing Parry.

No, that's what Defending Weapon is for.

If your setting also uses Defending Weapon to give a bonus to Parry, then I would say "no" to the OP's question.

However, if Defending Weapon was not used in the setting, then yes, Accuracy could also add to Parry.

Magic in general is an odd thing. Magic even moreso at times (but there's other threads for that).

IMO, the language used, "Makes a weapon more likely to hit by adding to the user’s effective skill." restricts the usage case by only making the weapon more likely to hit. It doesn't count for parries, or more complex usage scenarios and techniques where contests of skill are required.

Had it been worded "Adds to the user’s effective skill, making a weapon more likely to hit." instead, I expect that it would add to effective skill for all usage scenarios.

I would argue that the enchantment costs would need to be much higher in the latter scenario.
