Drawing Cards - Etiquette
My friend thinks it is fine to instead of drawing from the top of the deck he splits the deck, draws from the split, and puts the deck back together. Should I allow this?

Re: Drawing Cards - Etiquette
In what other game is this ever allowed without specifically calling it out in the rules? The rules don't tell you that you can do this, so you can not. Drawing a card, without explicit alternate instructions, universally means to take a card from the top of a deck of cards.
You can, of course, make a house rule to say otherwise, but it's in rather bad form to just start taking cards from wherever you like. In certain games, that would imply cheating and get you kicked from the table, or much, much worse (don't ever try that in a back alley poker game). |
