Default US army new AR?

Has the M5 AR been modeled yet in gurps? Last I heard G4 didn't have a weapon modeling system. It's been a while since I had players for gurps, I came back to support sjg due to steve's recent stance. I'm trying to find/recruit some players

Here's a quick video giving a description of the new gun from an infantryman's pov. It's fascinating in that is quickly describes how advances in various technologies lead to a new generation of assault rifles with new priorities.

Douglas Cole has looked at this, and his figures are usually solid. Guns. Cartridge.

Good stuff, tho I don't recall seeing some of those stats in gurps. Still all you need is damage and half dam range.

The stance announced a day after your first post?

Are you seeing something I'm not? Because it looks like his first post is in the thread about Steve taking a stance (a thread I didn't even know existed, as I don't ever really look at that part of the forum, and is now unsurprisingly closed, but I'm slowly making my way through it).

I misread the time stamps. You're correct.

It's been a while since there's been a seriously crunchy GURPS High Tech supplement for weapons. A supplement on bleeding-edge weaponry like the latest U.S. military arsenal, or the weapons being used in current military conflicts, would be welcome.

Many of the guns in GURPS, if you can find what ammunition they utilize - can borrow the 1/2 damage stats and max range stats from other HIGH TECH weapons using the exact same ammunition. The fun comes from when you have an entirely different piece of ammunition than is already covered by other guns.

Doug's spreadsheet that he developed or the refined sheet that I added to - should be able to express the damage of guns if you know the real world velocity and real world mass (along with diameter etc) to determine its overall damage rating. If you have the actual bullet length to width ratio - that helps all the more.

Most of the smallarms used in current conflicts were designed from the 1890s to the 1970s, because those are available cheaply in quantity and do the job, but yes, 'fashionable smallarms post 2004' would be a great article for GURPS

The OICW never saw service but maybe this rifle will be different.
