Default Mundane Armor Divisor

I'm considering using an inherent armor divisor on select weaponry (picks, flanged* maces, bodkin arrows) to broaden the weapon selection a bit. Possibly this AD would only apply to plate type armors. I'd be interested in any thoughts or suggestions.

*CF equivalent to fine

Don't bodkins already work like this?

Changing an impaling weapon to instead do pi(2) is not likely to have major balance issues. Adding an armor divisor without changing damage type or applying some other major penalty should cost at least as much as Very Fine.

Why would you do this? :O

Armour is already terribly underpowered in this game!

Damage is already unrealistically high, allowing armour blow-through entirely too easily.

Well, for one thing, it could allow higher armor values and still permit some appropriate weapons to be effective…

Just give armor higher DR against specific attack types (e.g. most armor should have increased DR vs slashing).

Sure, I think that amounts to the same thing if I make it a fractional AD.
