Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
I ask, "So are they usually hostile or is it possible for us to take a different route and avoid them?"

Does Vassarious recognize these creatures?
Encyclopedist! 3d6 4 + 1 + 2 = 7 Success by 5 Vassarious keeps keen eyes on the school and when they start to get closer, will begin aiming at the lead fish. |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Vassarious, having done some deep preparatory reading on this world, recognizes them as a Schooling Swam, a Swarm of Elder Things with flying move 8 and 20 HP per hex. They do 2 toxic damage to living things, resisted with Will -3. The swarm is composed of what look like eyeless, mouthless, featureless dark gray fish about 4 inches long each. They block sight through the hex they are in.
Schooling swarms are normally controlled through an orb: if not controlled this way they just kind of mill around like normal fish. With the way the swarm is changing its position, its probably being controlled. There are four hexes worth of swarm. They are currently about 200 yards away.

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Vassarious will edit their form to add their breath weapon from their native form... the alteration of their mouth and neck to accommodate these changes result in an ugly appearance and give them a disturbing voice (mostly balancing the change... I'll take a closer look for the last few points if it matters.

The specific breath weapon stats do matter here. There are a bunch of different breath weapon stats spread among the various books.

No, just making some minor adjustments to add the breath weapon to the bipedal form.

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Well, that places the swarm's controller somewhere along the lines of 100-300 yards away from us, so it looks like we could just change our route slightly to avoid the swarm.
But we should be prepared that the orb's controller could out manoeuvre us, but taking them out is probably the more effective solution than trying to disperse the swarm. |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Oh, the breath weapon is from V's native form. Got it.
Haley and Arlon notice the transformation. Arlon: "What was that magic?" Haley: "Yes, the orb is the vulnerable part. Shall we step out of their way, or shall we stop them?"
