Resist Cold: Retroactive protection?
There are at least two creatures in DF Monsters (Ice Weasel, Ice Wyrm) which paralyze you via freezing for a very long time. I don't see a spell in DF Spells which can undo whole-body paralyzation, but would it be normal/idiomatic to rule that Resist Cold un-freezes someone, since it makes them immune to the effects of cold including the ongoing freezing effect?
Is there another way to reverse paralyzation or is Resist Cold pretty much mandatory for delvers? (Ice Wyrms seem pretty deadly already even without being able to effectively one-hit kill anyone they hit with their breath!) Edit: oh, previously I only saw Relieve Paralysis which works only on a limb, but I overlooked Stop Paralysis. Although, what kind of resistance would an Ice Wyrm's paralysis get against Stop Paralysis? It doesn't have a skill roll. Last edited by sjmdw45; 09-08-2022 at 12:57 PM. |
