Default [MA] A Disarming question

I have a question about the application of the Disarming technique. Let's say our friend Steven has Judo-12, and Disarming-17, and he tries to disarm an enemy armed with a pistol. Steven will have to do two dice rolls, the first to hit the gun with a -5 for the size of the gun, and a -2 for not using a fencing weapon, total 17-5-2=10. If the enemy fails his defense, the second roll will be a Quick Contest of the ST or DX of the enemy, against the Disarming of Steven, and my question is: in this second roll are also applied the same -5 and -2 of the first roll? Or will Steven throw with a skill of 17?
Thanks for your answers.

Nope, once he hits it's just Disarming vs best of ST, DX, or Retain Weapon.
