No, Steven. I think not. Scrappy Doo needs to go into the ashbin of media history and stay there. T_T

By the time Scrappy came on the scene, I was old enough that Saturday morning cartoons were often down the list of things to do on a Sat morning. What I remember is he was kind of annoying.

But I do get the point of the article as far as games. Very possible the dice/cards were just plain mean the first time you played a game. Or you were the new person and became the early blood in the water. Probably worth while to give a disliked game a second chance, especially if it is already on your shelf in place of money in your wallet. Make sure everyone has a copy of the rules instead of sharing one copy. Use the basic rules instead of the advanced set if an option.

If you still hate the game after a second or third try, put it in your trade pile for the next trip to your FLGS or gift it to someone that liked it.

I can count on one hand the number of games that I considered to be poor games based on only one play.

Tanto Monta
Colonial Diplomacy

Are the two I would put in that category.

There are definitely games I gave up on after a couple of plays.

I don't think the problem with Scrappy is that we didn't give him a chance, I think there are just even more annoying characters out there now in kids television that scrappy is hardly the most annoying character out there any more. Looking at you Cailou and maybe Peppa.
