Anyone with High Tech?
Don't have my copy with me (and it's only 3rd edition if that matters) But my groups is fighting a Chinese military squad
"assuming" that it will be a 10-12 man squad, each with AK-47's, two extra clips of ammo, a 50% chance of a .44 automatic pistol, a combat knife, and two grenades There will be a radio operator, and one will be a "leader" with slightly higher stats (as you do) They will be driving humvee's with a roof mounted M60 machine gun or equivalent) I need stats for the AK-47's, the M60 and possibly the .44....if anyone has better ideas for the weapons, I'm all ears thanks |

Re: Anyone with High Tech?
Stats for the AK-47 appear on Basic p 279 under "TL7 Assault Rifle 7.62mmS".
Stats for the .44 auto pistol (not sure what that even is...) appear on Basic p 278 under "TL8 Auto Pistol .44M". Close enough stats for the M-60 are on Basic p 281 under "TL7 LMG 7.62mm" - I think those are actually stats for a MG-34, but close enough. Modern Chinese forces carry Norinco QBZ95s in 5.8x42mm (2 lbs lighter and 1 point of damage less than the TL7 Assault Rifle 7.62mmS) and use the Norinco QJY-88 in 5.8x42mm as a squad automatic weapon and light machine gun (with a heavier barrel). Use the stats for the "TL7 SAW 5.56mm" on Basic p 281 and you should be fine. It looks like the service pistol should be the Norinco QSZ-92 in 9mm Parabellum (5.8x21mm for officers). Use the TL7 Auto Pistol 9mm stats, and change damage to 2d+2 (2) pi- for the officer.

On the hex map we are using, not sure the "scary long range assassin" will work, but as a soldier with a higher skill and ability to "call shots" from cover, he should still be scary at 50 yards Or I could go with a character with an RPG, not sure I have ever seen the stats for one, but with an assumed slow reload speed, it should be fun to launch one, or maybe two max at the pc's to see their reactions EDIT: see the RPG stats on pg.281...but is the (10) armor divisor "standard? Note that soldiers with a combat load will not carry just 2 extra magazines. They will often carry dozens. I don't know what the issue is for Chinese forces, but I would be confident in Wild-Ass Guessing at a minimum of 6+ magazines.

Re: Anyone with High Tech?
I figured, but the concept is that they are "on patrol" and "not expecting trouble" This is a not a "hot zone situation"
Essentialy a Chinese Listening post was hit hard by the big bad of my PC's (superhero) adventure....they are supposed to avoid entanglements, but being "heroes" they will probably investigate the carnage at the rising plume of smoke in the distance they will run into the chinese patrol who were nearby and likewise coming to investigate, of course the patrol has a "survivor" who is really a metahuman with ESP...making them hard to dodge |

A patrol squad might carry the PF-89, which is described as similar to a Swedish AT-4, which has nearly identical stats to the TL8 LAW on p 281. (The actual American M72 LAW is 10 lbs lighter and does half the damage; go figure). An RPG launcher at 21 lbs + 6 lbs per rocket is probably too heavy to be casually humping on patrol outside of a known combat zone and is a specialist weapon anyhow. If you want to use the sniper, just position him somewhere off-map and have an idea what his sight lines are. He can take shots from 500 yards away and the PCs can try to spot him and find places to hide from him. He doesn't need to be on the map. Note that he'd probably have a second soldier covering him and spotting for him.
