"Dont you want help with the others?" asks running wolf.

The nearest outpost or town is Shady Gulch which coincidently will be where anyone on the trail you came from would be heading. That should include the target of the road agents (who seem a little well informed).

OOC: I am going to assume unless challenged that Sampson and Samuel head off toward Shady Gulch at full tilt. I will decide what Running Wolf will do when either Sampson or Samuel reply to my last post.

Pericles, Sebastian and Jeb

OOC: unless i hear protest i am going to assume you guys travel onwards together.

The Trail ahead is steep and this will slow the wagons a fair bit added to this the relative inexperience in team handling of Pericles and Sebastian even the progress becomes painfully slow. This may explain why you guys can still see the tail end of the wagon train you left every now and then, they seem to be having similar troubles.
Jeb finds this more than a little amusing. Why travel by wagon if you cant drive one right he thinks. This line of thought is interupted by the apearence of a group of horsemen heading DOWN the trail. There are four of them. They look well armed and are traveling at some speed.

Sampson looks at Running Wolf,"Although I welcome your company I believe Gungrave and I can handle this. If you want to exact vengence on all that desicrated your burial ground then by all means come...we will try to save a couple scalps for your lodges!" With that he spurs his horse and holds tight to the mules reigns.

Pericles reins in the horses and sets the brake, "Whoa up, Sebastien, and grab your piece. Given what's happened on this trail already today, these folk's lack of subtlety worries me some."

He cocks the hammer on his revolver and braces one foot against the buckboard. Leaning forward, he sets his left elbow on the knee, prepared to take a braced aim, if it comes to that.

(ooc: Pericles doesn't actually point his weapon at them yet, and won't until they come within good pistol range. The current range is...?)

"Whoa there, you stubborn lot. Those boys are coming on a might bit aggressively." Jeb brings his mules to a halt, trying to keep them behind the wagons if possible. He also readies his pistol, but keeps it by his side.

OOC:The range will close very rapidly these guys are not exactly going slow. By rapidly i would say you have a handful of seconds before they are under 20 yards away.

The horsemen spread out into line abreast and have drawn Iron. From left to right.
First man is riding a roan and carries a henry rifle. You can see he has a pistol ina holster too.
Second man is riding a white and has a double barrelled scatter gun cut down to riot length. He has twin pistols on his best.
Third man is riding a grey and has a winchester 66 by the look of it. He has another long arm in a scabbard on his horse and a revolver on his hip.
Last man is riding a huge black horse he has a revolver in his right hand.

The man on the grey waves his carbine above his head and calls out to you as they close.
"Hi partners, my name is deputy Oldman we are here to escort you in"

OOC: i need per rolls from pericles sebastian and Jeb.

Sampson and Samuel set of at speed on a course designed to brng them out on the trail as close to the Gulch as they can reasonably hope. They both travel as fast as the terrain will safely allow and make good time.
Runnig Wolf and his band did not set of with you guys and you assume they will content themselves with the boy as revenge. The twon girls cling to mounts taken from the road agents coral but they fall steadily further behind Sampson and Samuel.

OOC: The over confident amongst you can push for more speed this will require rolls against riding(equines) to achieve. Failed rolls mean you take damage equal to the margin of failure due to hitting branches etc.
