Running Wolf will lead Samuel to the camp and as you get closer the rest of Running wolf's band joins your little group. Eventually you arive at the camp.
The camp consists of a a couple of old shacks made from dead fall wood and a large tent. It is roughly circular with a small paddock for horses to one side. It has no resemblance to your typical mining camp which do dot these hills. If you were forced to guess it has the look of a mountain retreat for road agents!
The camp looks deserted apart from the horses in the paddock and Sampson's Mule which is currently eating something out of a bag close to one of the shacks.

As you draw close to the wagon you notice the ground has been recently diturbed all around the burn site and the smouldering wreck. It is difficult to be precise but it looks like possibly two or three different groups have been here since the fire started. Some of the horse tracks are shoed some arent! There are Sioux about!
You take your time to examine the surrounding forrest carefully hoping to spot signs of an ambush before it is sprung, you find none. What you do spot however are two freshly dug graves.

Samuel walks up to Sampsons mule and pats its head. looking around for any signs.

"Well Henry, keep your ears sharp...we know mine aren't...it looks like there could be trouble." Jeb is a bit spooked by this, but continues along the trail. He slows down a bit, keeping his inexpert eye peeled for more horse tracks.

OCC: how far away is the boy from Sampson? Is he within a step move? If not can I use Heroic charge from Martial Arts?

You can deduce fromt he marks on the ground that Sampson entered the tent. The camp other wise seems deserted.

You pass the burnt wagon and the graves with out incident. You continue in a more cautious manor and soon the twisty trail means you can no longer see the wagon and its accompanying graves. Unfortunately as you travel you spot some distinctive track marks on the ground. Unshod horse hooves and on a second look a small column of unshod horses passed by here quite recently.

"Well, don't like the look of that, maybe we ought to take it slow, Henry." To avoid catching up to the party ahead, Jeb slows down their pace, and begins to keep an eye out for a suitable place to hunker down for a spell.
