Samuel watches in disbelief as Sampson charges around the corner and disapears fromn sight. You grip your guns a little tighter and make a sweep of the area. It is then you notice confusing tracks on the ground just off the trail. A quick examination suggests multiple horsemen joined the trial in persuit of the wagon. Their horses were shod!

Once they get within 100 yards of the scene, Pericles tells Sebastien to slow the wagon and get his shotgun ready.

[ooc: I'm assuming Sebastien is driving; as neither of us knows much about wagons, he might as well]

Pericles draws his revolver and squints into the distance, looking for more indians or anyone else rushing into the area..

observation (defaults to 8) (3d6=11)

"Can't see squat but dirt & smoke in this godforsaken territory..."

ooc. you are about 150 yards to the wagon.

OOC: Does Sampson recognize the Brave to be one of the tribe tha the has as an enemy?

IC: Sampson slows the horse to a trott and approaches the brave with his scatter gun lowered. He will stop when he is within 10 yards if the brave wil let him.

OOC note it would be a straight PER role not observation

as your wagon draws within the one hundred yard area Sebastian strugles to control the team and ready a shot gun. The wagon rolls on almost out of control for another ten or so yards before control is restored.

Pericles search of the srrounding area reveals no more indians but does throw up a conundrum the brave has a lance which has been thrust into the ground but no pony. You are contemplating this very point when a lone horseman rides into view beyong the burning wagon. After a few seconds a wagon comes round the bend.

The brave does not apear to be of the tribe you are enemies with. In fact you are unceratin of his tribe at all! As you close the distance he draws and readies his bow then aims it at you or maybe your horse.
"Put up your gun I come in peace!" shouts the Brave in sioux.

Samson holdng no ill will towards the Brave but is no dumb bunny says,"You be stoppin aim'n yer bow at me boy. Yall lookin supicious with'n these dead settlers and such laying all around ya. I'll put my Scatter gun down when you stop pointin' yer bow at me." (OCC: He is speaking in HillyBilly Siuox :D) He halts his horse and rests the scatter gun across his lap waiting for the Brave to act.

Pericles rubs the butt of his revolver against his right temple and wishes he had an extra hand to pull out a cigar -- nothing about the scene in front of him makes much sense.

Pericles and Sebastien continue towards the burnt wagon at a moderate pace, intending to stop a good twenty or thirty yards away.

Samuel stops the wagon before making it close to the wreckage. when he spots the Indian aiming Samuel steps off the wagon, patting his horses while and then stands in front of them watching what Sampson will do, with a ready gun.

The brave begins to lower his bow but suddenly jerks his head round to see the other wagon aproaching from behind. The bow comes back up and the Brave makes an ear splitting cry. He then turns back to samson and speaks again in the Sioux tongue.
"Ambush?" he asks.

Samson and Pericles notice that the sounds of the forrest around them have have stopped. A flock of birds takes flight from the forrest crying in alarm.

Pericles and Sebastion get the distinct feeling they are being watched. Samson froank;ly couldnt give a damn.

Samuel notcies out the corner of his eye movement in the tree's.
