Default Point costs to “Immunity to Diabetes” & “Immunity to HIV/AIDS”

Is it like “Immunity to Cancers [5]” or more or less?

Also, any IW parachronic traveler who gets their hands on Cyberworld’s vaccine to HIV/AIDS could make big money?

I'm not sure that "Immunity to Diabetes" is a thing. Diabetes seems to be partly genetic, and "immunity to genetic problems" isn't a GURPS advantage (though you could take Taboo Trait: genetic problems as a feature, and therefore you could take Taboo Trait: genetic predisposition to diabetes as a feature); and partly a product of lifestyle, and pathological conditions that result from harmful lifestyles aren't usually thought of as something you can be immune to.

But if it is a thing, I might be inclined to say full Immunity is just a 1-point perk. It isn't going to have much effect on play; even characters who have diabetes won't necessarily be hindered in play by it (unless they're specifically designed to have problems based on it), and I don't see a character's archnemesis attacking them by inflicting an unhealthy diet on them as a way of putting them at risk for diabetes.

Immunity to Cancer(5) is already priced as a "Rare" threat and the scale does not technically go lower than that. I believe there is "Immunity to a specific disease" in Bio-tech for 1 pt.

HIV is a specific disease though technical matters like sub-strains could complicate things. Diabetes isn't technically a "disease" even in Gurps terms. In those terms it might be a "Sickness" even though it (probably) doesn't have an environmental cause. If a GM wanted to lower the price on Immunity to Diabetes from (5)pts he'd be within his rights.

In technical terms a bio-tech agent that provided Immunity to Diabetes (type II) would probably be some kind of gene therapy that reversed insulin resistance. (I seem to be using the word "technical" a lot).

For Type I you'd want to treat very young and prevent an autoimmune malfunction from killing the cells in the Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas in the first place. Later than that you have to replace those cells and prevent the immune system from killing them again.

To make money on Homeline from an out-time piece of bio-tech you're going to need to funnel it to the market through the existing process for bringing in out-time inventions. There's very probably a significant reward from doing that but it might not be the king's ransom you're thinking of. If you can get even a small royalty on each dose it should add up eventually.

Homeline isn't actually a great place to get fantastically rich from out-time imports. If it's really useful somebody else has probably done it before you.

A lot of this is for setting colour & info on the varieties of Non-baseline people living in it.

Unless you have mechanics in your game which cause people to develop diabetes, immunity to diabetes doesn't have meaning.

Setting color info doesn't need character points.

Not the proper U.N./Infinity way, no, but my side isn’t doing it that way and I’m doing a hard hard Infinite Darkness (IW pg. 36) anyway.

The varieties of people have templates to flesh things out and I like providing players with choices.

Let me narrow it down, then: if the only thing a trait does is give setting color, it does not cost points. If it interacts with points at all, it would be as a quirk, and immunity to diabetes certainly isn't a quirk.

Immunity to Type I Diabetes is probably a taboo trait (0 points), in that if you're from that time and place you simply don't have it because it's been removed from the population or universal treatment in infancy makes you 'immune'. If so it's not worth points, any more than being given MMR shots, TB vaccine, and so on is.
