Default Innate Attack with Grapple

I was thinking of a way to grasp and crush things that's a little more direct (and with less ****** scaling) than Binding with Constriction, and I think what I want is an Innate Attack (Crushing) with Melee Attack and... some kind of effect to make it grapple the target and keep them grappled while I keep using the Innate Attack every turn. Thoughts?

Relatedly, if there's some way to use Innate Attack to generate Control Points (per Technical Grappling) rather than damage, I'd be interested in that as well. Thanks!

You'd need a combined Binding + Innate Attack or have innate attack only function while you've grappled the target.

We used 5/die in my supers campaign that was a bit of test bed for the dungeon grappling book.

How would I have a Binding that, in addition to binding the target to themselves/the ground, also binds them to me? Is that a 0 point feature, you reckon?

And how did that go? Were people bothered that the Innate Attack doesn't scale with Strength while uses of Control Points generally do, or was it a nonissue?

ST-Based would solve that.

Retractable would do it. (It's also in a Pyramid, but I forget which one as I haven't had my morning tea yet.)

you can get a -10% discount for your Crushing attack if it "requires grapple" (Powers the weird) though that assumes a melee-based grapple so I'm not sure how that would extend to ranged-grappling via Binding
