Default Article says Tank Killing Robot Revealed

And more news from the development of military applications for robotics, this article talks of a robot designed as a tank killer. From the article, "If deployed, battlefields could see scenarios of unusual, futuristic duels: tank versus robot." For those OGRE players who know, does the United States, or some other government, have the capability to produce a computer which approaches an Artificial Intelligence device utilized in the Mark I or Mark II OGRES? Could it be possible that the size of an AI device for an OGRE, of the Mark III or higher, be actually smaller than the design of the game anticipated? Food for thought. Here is the link to the FOX News Article: [URL="http://http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2018/06/22/tank-killing-robot-revealed.html"]http://http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2018/06/22/tank-killing-robot-revealed.html[/URL
Sunday 6-24-2018, apparently there are problems with the link I provided. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I apologize for the screw up. I'll try again. http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2018/06/...-revealed.html

The link worked this time. I could have sworn it worked last time as well, so I would appreciate it if someone would test it and reply if they do or do not find the article.

Trying to decipher all the hype in the article, it looks like it's a remotely piloted vehicle, not an autonomous robot.

To me, it looks like a "Minimally viable ground-bot". Its got a range of 140 miles, a couple of shots with a missile, and a machine gun. Its the equivalent of two adequately armed guys on a good all terrain vehicle.

What makes it nice is that if you loose it, you didn't just loose two guys. Its only going to worth it if its cheap.

also, note that the device is never shown, only 3d models of it.

The robot must close with the tank very rapidly.
... Hover or quad-copter.
The robot must have the ability to defeat 250mm+ armor.
... Shaped charge.
Without intelligent accuracy at the right place the warhead would be useless.
... Visual recognition and lock on with a library of all military vehicles.
Without survivability it will never reach it's target.
... Small and moves about unpredictably.
So, I would be looking at cheap, hover bots with a hi-res camera and a shaped charge. It zips up to altitude, loiters for a while and then falls to rest on the engine deck or turret of a tank.
With technology the way it is an infantryman could carry one easily. If this happens, I have no idea what armor will do to react ... maybe a cloud of sticky threads in a defense grenades?

Reminds me of playing Carnage Heart on the original PlayStation. Constant R&D to design and program better systems to defend against changing attack strategies.

I know just the thing - small tactical nuclear warheads!
