Maybe in a later book. I didn't really have room in this one with everything else I squeezed in. I literally cut a chapter of material to get in everything I did. Sorry.

Re: Realm Management examples
I'm looking at doing Centrum. There are a few things that make this tricky:

IMHO this might be where we might want to focus as empires really mess things up. What would the British Empire of the early 1700s look like using this system? Would it take a total area hit when the Colonies formally break away in 1783? Would the Total Area of the United States have a mammoth jump if you go from 1802 to 1804? How about 1866 vs 1868 (Alaska purchase)?

Re: Realm Management examples
While my knowledge is over a decade old at this point, in the early/mid 2000s the USA and France were the only industrialized nations that were net exporters of food. There were lots of nations that exported specific foods, Spain supplies most of the EU with vegetables for example, but were net importers of calories.
This has been going on for a century plus at this point, and was a motivation, among many, for various powers in WW2. They were becoming increasingly dependent on other nations outside their own empires and colonies for food and other raw materials (Imperial Japan depended on the USA for food, oil, iron and other goods). So I am not surprised that any model of real nations from the past century or two would have most of them well over carrying capacity.

Re: Realm Management examples
The British Empire was, nearly at any time, a bewildering array of colonies, protectorates, vassal and client states, and... corporate states.

Re: Realm Management examples
COUNTY OF MARCONA
The feudal County of Marcona rests at a vital mountain passage along the Marble Coast, making it an epicenter of trade and commerce. Marcona is famed for its fine wines and for hosting the University of Uvagrove. Like many of the Counties along the mountains of the Marble Coast, Marcona is a haven for Patron worshipers, religious minorities at best tolerated but often persecuted by the dominant Kavoran Church. A recent coup within the Church has seen the rise of a fanatical new Archbishop, who has empowered the Inquisition to violently pursue a grudge they’ve held against Marcona’s ruler, The Contessa. With the tremendous help of her adventurous council of advisors, The Contessa has formed the Basilisk League, a group of similarly minded Marble Coast Counties seeking to defend themselves against the aggression of the Inquisition. Nearby Counties allied with the new Archbishop have formed a counter-League, and many speculate that war between them and the Basilisk League is inevitable. Total Area: 1375 sq miles (livable: 900 sq miles) Realm Size Value: +10 Resource Points: 16+ (3 Agriculture Points; 5 Luxury/Precious Good Points; 3 Natural Resource Points; 5+1d Workforce Points) TL: 3 Cultural Traits: None Population: 30,000 Citizen Loyalty: Neutral Infrastructure Rating: 3 (Average) Control Rating: 5 Conformity Rating: 1 Openness Rating: 4 Government Type: Feudal (Benefit: +5% Military Resources; Drawback: Each turn, roll 3d. This lasts until a Bluff, Negotiate, or Threaten maneuver is used to quell the rebellious lords). Economic Type: Traditional/Subsistence (Benefit: Start with 1d additional Workforce Points; Drawback: 50% of Revenue is immediately converted into Luxury/Precious Goods Points). Her eldest son, Vigo, is currently managing the County and hastily preparing its defenses, as an Inquisitorial Warband is heading toward Marcona. *The majority of the revenues converted into Luxury/Precious Goods points (per Traditional economies) represents the production of Marcona’s fine wines. |

Re: Realm Management examples
I wonder what the stats for the Republic of Texas or Confederate Stats of America would look like.
